AWG and friends danced the night away at the Ceilidh held in Montferrier, in a very spacious room that allowed dancers to enjoy themselves with abandon.

The photos tells the story - everyone is having great fun.

Kate and Roddy brought along their CD's, but did not try to sell any, perhaps because it was a charity event and they did not want to draw away from our fundraising.  I suggested that they leave some CD's for me to sell, and then send them the money.  They are only 5 euros each.  The music is a mixture of celtic and eastern European, and was taped with their former group, Ylem, in 2007.  They are currently working on another CD.  The 13 pieces on this CD, called Anoushka, are Leshoto, Twa Corbies, Cape Breton set, Karsilama, Le Valsounette, The Deals Awa, The Lapking, Dracula's Dentist, Udnis Was, Duj Duj, Swedish Mazurka, The Jolly Beggarman, and the Whitsby Polska.

We made more than 1000 euros for the FAWCO Target Project, and that amount will be matched by a Foundation sponsor.

Angela writes:  We had an absolutely lovely evening.  Thank you so much to everyone who put so much work into it.  Even though my kids were asleep before we made it out of Montferrier, we were so glad we came and stayed as late as we did.   What a special opportunity for them to enjoy some dancing and music and I’m thrilled we made so much!
Bravo to all you ladies who worked so hard!!!

Editor:  we have beautiful photos of Angela with her children, but we don't post them on Scriveners. Contact the Scriveners editor at:  awg.scriveners@gmail.com, if you haven't already seen them.

Jessica writes:
'The Dancing Feet band truly held up to their name. I may have been behind the bar, but my feet were dancing all the time. It was an equally enjoyable event for me to see so many different groups of people coming together from all over the region to just have fun and dance. Thank you to the band, to Maggie for all her hard work advertising this event, and to anyone who played a role in making this event a success. Bravo!'
