Maggie: fun ecology exhibit for kids & adults this April

I had a fantastic time testing my knowledge on the interactive ecology exhibit at the Maison Départmentale de l’Environnement at the Domaine de Restinclières.

I think it’s meant to be for kids, but there were a lot more adults than kids pressing the buttons and spinning the wheels when I was there.  It would certainly be a great activity for kids and grand-kids during the up-coming school break.

It’s open Monday to Friday from 14h to 17h and weekends from 14h to 18h, and the exhibit ends on April 30th.

The brochure says:  Trouvez des solutions possible pour faire face aux enjeux environnementaux à partir d’activités qui favorisent le questionnement et proposent des mises en situation.

I particularly liked trying to guess how much water is consumed daily by the average American, the average European, and the average African?  How much water is needed to produce a pair of shoes?  A T-shirt?  A beefsteak?  A 200g package of potato chips ?

It’s more than just fun.  It’s a learning experience.
