Dancing ... it's fun |
There
were 64 participants at the Celtic Evening in Clapiers on Saturday, 19
March, including 12 members and some of their family members. Thanks to
all who helped, and to M. le Maire de Clapiers, Eric Penso (who stopped
by for a dance) for donating the hall. Thanks also to the musicians,
Roddy Johnston and Kate Badcock, from Abernethy, Scotland, for providing
such great music for dancing, and such fine songs. A bit of Scotland
and a bit of Ireland, so it was not just Scottish music and Irish beer.
Thanks also to Lynda Dodgson, who teaches Irish dancing in Juvignac,
for demonstrating some Irish tap dancing, despite the tiled floor, at
the musicians’ break (which wasn’t really a break for Roddy, since he
saw to the CD for the Irish demonstration).
Thanks to the sale of tickets, drinks and snacks, the evening made a profit of about 300€.
