Maggie: truffle-hunting in Uzes

Editor:  It's truffle season, and Maggie organised a Garden Club outing to a truffier and his wonderful dog, Edgi,  and the event was a universal success.  Along with the photos are some comments from those who were present.

Maggie:  it was an absolutely wonderful day.  I'm so glad we could organize it, and we were so lucky that M.Truffe (Michel, to his friends) has just started the "dégustation améliorée."
Preparations of truffles in several ways were served for lunch

.... and Maggie, are both holding truffles.

Everyone is well wrapped-up

Thank you Maggie for the great pics. Had the most wonderful time, so interesting.....who knew the Truffle was a fruit of the fungus?? Michael and his dog Edji were a great team and very 'entertaining'. As this was my first real introduction to Truffes, my expectations were far exceeded......my favourite dish was the cheese and salad however being an ice cream lover, simply delicious!
Well done for organising such an incredible day!    Robyn
After Edgi has uncovered a truffle, his master holds him back

Editor:  it's really hard to capture a good photo of a black dog, but one can see Edgi's soulful face

Maggie!
I really enjoyed your photos of our truffle outing.  I especially appreciated the sequence showing the close relationship between 'master' and dog and how they work together with such joy and love.  Then the food, more joy for the participants, and finally the 'souvenir' shop!  Good work!  Thanks for a truly outstanding outing!  Peggy F.
